You will join a large team of professionals who are passionate about their careers as well as their community.Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to support our client’s Supply Chain services and Warehouse Management Systems. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable and resilient software systems. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot, cloud proficiency, and a background working with streaming technologies like Kafka. The role also includes participation in an on-call rotation to ensure production reliability.WHAT YOU GET TO DO :Design and develop robust software systems that support Supply Chain services and Warehouse Management Systems.Participate in architectural discussions, system design, and implementation planning.Develop scalable and well-tested backend services using Java and Spring Boot.Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.Work with messaging platforms like Kafka for real-time data streaming and processing.Deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes environments using cloud services like AWS (GCP experience is a plus).Contribute to modern CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and infrastructure tools like Terraform.Implement comprehensive test automation across unit, integration, and performance levels.Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using observability tools such as New Relic and Splunk.Participate in on-call support for production systems and respond to incidents promptly.On-Call ResponsibilitiesThis role includes participation in an on-call rotation to ensure the reliability and performance of production systems:Rotation Schedule: Weekly rotation beginning Tuesday at 9:00 AM PST through Monday at 9:00 PM PST.Responsibilities During On-Call:Monitor system health and respond to alerts promptly.Troubleshoot and resolve incidents to minimize downtime.Escalate issues as needed and document resolutions for future reference.WHAT YOU BRINGPrimary Technologies: Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Microservices, Kubernetes, AWS, REST APIs, Terraform, GitLab CI/CDSecondary / Nice-to-Have:GCP, Relational Databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), Supply Chain Domain Knowledge, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), New Relic, SplunkWHAT YOU BRING :Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with strong backend focus.Proficient in Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem.Experience with messaging/streaming platforms such as Kafka.Strong knowledge of object-oriented design and modern design patterns.Experience deploying and managing services on cloud platforms—preferably AWS.Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure automation.Expertise in building and consuming RESTful APIs.Familiar with automated testing across different levels of the stack.Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative mindset.Preferred Qualifications - Additional technologies that are not requiredFamiliarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Knowledge of relational databases and SQL optimization.Understanding of Supply Chain operations or Warehouse Management Systems.Experience with observability tools (New Relic, Splunk) and monitoring practices.MORE ABOUT WIMMER SOLUTIONSWimmer Solutions is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
