In this role, you will help build and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure, CI/CD automation, and platform reliability across cloud environments. You will lead platform upgrades and migrations, improve system observability, and ensure robust support for production systems.This role includes participation in an on-call rotation to support critical infrastructure and operational reliability.WHAT YOU GET TO DO :Infrastructure as Code: Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform.Cloud Platforms: Build, manage, and optimize scalable and cost-efficient solutions in AWS and GCP.CI/CD: Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD.Observability: Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting with New Relic and Splunk to maintain system uptime and performance.Kubernetes: Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes to ensure scalability and reliability.Event Streaming: Work with Kafka to support real-time, event-driven architectures.Data Platform Support: Collaborate with engineering teams to support BigQuery, Snowflake, and big data platforms like Hadoop/EMR/DataProc.Cloud Networking & Security: Implement and enforce cloud security best practices, including networking (VPCs, firewalls), IAM, and encryption.Platform Upgrades & Migrations: Lead infrastructure upgrades and platform migrations with minimal disruption to business operations.Collaboration: Partner with Dev, Data, and Operations teams to ensure systems meet performance and reliability requirements.On-Call Support: Participate in the on-call rotation to address system incidents, troubleshoot issues, and maintain uptime.On-Call ResponsibilitiesRotation Schedule: Weekly rotation starting Tuesday at 9:00 PM PST through Monday at 9:00 AM PSTResponsibilities Include:Monitoring system health and responding to alertsTroubleshooting and resolving incidents with urgencyEscalating critical issues and documenting post-incident learningsWHAT YOU BRINGPrimary Technologies: AWS, GCP, Terraform, CI/CD Tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab), New Relic, Splunk, Kubernetes, Kafka, BigQuery, Snowflake, Hadoop/EMR/DataProcRequired Skills & Professional Experience:7+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or similar rolesStrong hands-on experience with AWS and GCPExpertise in Terraform for infrastructure as codeDeep understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation toolsExperience with monitoring/logging tools like New Relic and SplunkProficiency with Kubernetes for orchestrating containerized applicationsFamiliarity with Kafka for real-time messaging and event-driven architectureExperience supporting large-scale data platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, Hadoop/EMR/DataProc)Solid understanding of cloud networking and security principlesProven success in leading platform upgrades and migrationsStrong problem-solving and root cause analysis skillsExcellent communication and collaboration across teamsMORE ABOUT WIMMER SOLUTIONSWimmer Solutions is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
