We are urgently looking for a Design Engineer for our Process Skids Manufacturing, a leading European client based in Pune.Role: Engineer / Senior Engineer - DesignDepartment: Project and EngineeringLocation: PuneRole Purpose:The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and development of food processing machinery, including applied food processing technology, hygienic design, general machine design, and manufacturing techniques. This role involves designing process modules and production lines across various food categories, from order intake to final product delivery.Qualification & Experience:- Education: Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Draughtsman - Experience: Minimum 3 - 5 years - Gender: Male or Female - Preferred Industry: Dairy, Food, and BeveragesKey Responsibilities & Deliverables:Design & Engineering:- Analyze technical aspects of customer requirements, including process parameters, automation logic, and feasibility of available skids. - Design 3D process piping, skid layouts, and modeling using SolidWorks software. - Create 2D detailed manufacturing drawings for piping, tanks, vessels, pressure vessels, and structures. - Support the pre-proposal team in preparing P&ID, GA drawings, and layouts. - Prepare 3D equipment and piping layouts using SolidWorks and Plant 3D. - Generate bill of materials (BOM), manufacturing drawings, and fabrication drawings for the purchase and manufacturing departments.Supplier & Manufacturing Support:- Assist in mechanical component selection and review supplier offers. - Validate BOM and manufacturing drawings before final release for production. - Provide support to the manufacturing department for skid assembly and fabrication.Testing & Installation:- Ensure skid system internal testing at the workshop and coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) with customers. - Prepare design documents, operation, and maintenance manuals for supplied systems. - Oversee installation, commissioning, and performance validation at customer sites.Technical Expertise:- Perform load and thickness calculations for mechanical design.Required Knowledge & Skills:- Design Software: SolidWorks, AutoCAD Plant 2D & 3D. - Industry Standards: ASME, SMS, 3A, EHEDG, DIN. - Software Proficiency: MS Office. - Technical Skills: - Hygienic piping design - Process piping and utility piping - Food manufacturing practices - Strong Communication Skills: Written and oral.Responsibilities & Authority:Responsibilities:- Oversee end-to-end mechanical design of skids, process piping, and utility piping. - Generate BOM and BOQ for projects. - Create fabrication drawings for manufacturing. - Design storage tanks and pressure vessels.Authority:- Execute assigned responsibilities with guidance from the Head of Department (HOD).
