Job Title: Voice Infrastructure Engineer (Ribbon SBC Expert) Location: Remote Contract Type: Full-Time Working Hours: US Time Zones Job Overview:We are seeking a highly experienced and certified Voice Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in Ribbon Session Border Controllers (SBC), including implementation, architecture, configuration, and support. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Linux and possess hands-on experience with Ribbon’s PSX Policy Server, EMS, and RAMP tools for complex call routing and troubleshooting.Key Responsibilities:Design, implement, and support Ribbon SBC solutions, including high-availability configurations and multi-tenant deployments.Provision and maintain Ribbon SBCs using Linux-based CLI tools.Install and upgrade Ribbon PSX Policy Servers on both bare metal and virtualized environments.Configure call routing policies—simple to complex—using PSX GUI and bulk data loading via EMS/RAMP.Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis using PES logs and Ribbon diagnostic tools.Collaborate with network and telecom teams to ensure seamless integration of SBCs with existing infrastructure.Provide technical documentation, implementation guides, and support handover documentation.Participate in change management and incident resolution as part of a global support team.Maintain best practices for security, compliance, and operational excellence in VoIP/SIP environments.Required Qualifications:5+ years of experience with Ribbon SBC platforms (formerly Sonus).Strong expertise in Linux—especially for command-line provisioning and troubleshooting of Ribbon devices.Proven hands-on experience with:PSX Policy Server installation & upgradesCall routing configurations via GUI and EMS/RAMP bulk loadersTroubleshooting routing issues using PES logsIn-depth knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, SRTP) and network troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, tcpdump).Experience with integration of SBCs with Cisco, Microsoft Teams Direct Routing, or similar UC platforms.Strong understanding of firewall/NAT traversal, TLS/SRTP encryption, and SIP trunking.Preferred Certifications:Ribbon Communications Certified Specialist or ProfessionalCisco CCNP Collaboration or equivalentLinux+ / RHCSA / RHCESIP or VoIP technology certifications
