Purpose of the position:Ensure that all Instrumentation systems provide adequate functionality and reliability with minimum cost of ownership in compliance with internal and external regulations.Lead, and develop team of Automation engineers in the region.Drive continuous improvement of assets, work processes and people capabilities to maximize business profitability optimizing functionality, reliability, efficiency and lifecyclePrincipal responsibilities:Ensure competent & motivated team for Automation maintenance in the regionCoordinate preparation and execution of overhauling of Instruments equipment during turnarounds, emergency shutdowns and equipment breakdownsSupport Condition Monitoring program (viz. vibration monitoring, oil analysis, VDL, ECM, Ultrasonic etc.)Provide technical support for instrumentation and related equipment e.g. analyser, transmitter, etc.Development of plant level Automation engineers and techniciansMake Annual Plans for OPEX & CAPEX, Training for Site Automation Engineers & Technicians etc.Review Drawings & give recommendations for implementation for new Projects as per Statutory & LGSR standards.Make detailed Job plans for Major shutdown/ TAR (materials & Services, Budget etc), Vendor selection for material supply & services.Implementation of Alerts / Technical Bulletins / directives & guidelines as per CoE Recommendations and compliance to statutory requirements.Take lead in coordinating the site activities on equipment during turnaround.Support Root cause Failure Analysis related to instrumentation failure of equipment.Responsible for ensuring the preventive maintenance program for all Automation equipment is complied withConduct technical evaluation of rotating equipment vendors for minor and major projects.Pro-actively review plant condition-based data and equipment reports for reliable operation of plantCarry out inspection during construction & commissioning of rotating equipment for minor and major projectsAssist, participate and advise etc. in other regional areas (i.e. Also possible involvement in other regions breakdowns & planned TARs)Drive productivity initiatives.Responsible for helping in sustaining QMS certification (ISO 9001,14001, OHSAS 1800) in carrying outthe required action as per standard applicable area.Statutory compliances with respect to Factory license, PESO, etc as applicableTo implement and maintain LiMSS and Traccess to establish best operating practices by customizing group systems and standardsConduct troubleshooting in cases of Automation related problem/ disturbances and necessaryaction whenever required.Required key skills (functional/technical):Strong safety awarenessHands on Experience in Continuous Process Industries.Working knowledge & experience in handling rotating and stationary equipment.Good interpersonal relationship in working area.Disciplined & systematicExposure to Reliability centred maintenanceKnowledge of vibration monitoring systems such as Bentley Nevada System 1 and turbine/compressor application will be an advantageMust have led the overhaul of turbines, compressors, pumps and various rotating equipment'sShould be good in coordination with vendors and contractorsRequired qualifications/experience:The incumbent must be B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering with 5 to 8 years of experience in continuous process industries preferably Air Separation Unit (ASU) / Petrochemical / Fertilizers.
