Job Title:LTE/5G Layer 2 Protocol Developer (PDCP/RLC/MAC) Location:Bangalore Experience:6–10 yearsJob Summary:-We are seeking a highly skilled protocol stack developer to work on the design, development, and optimization of Layer 2 protocols (PDCP, RLC, MAC) for LTE and 5G NR systems. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of 3GPP standards and hands-on experience in embedded C/C++ development.Key Responsibilities:-Design and implement Layer 2 protocol stack components:PDCP ,RLC , andMAC . Develop features fordata integrity ,segmentation/reassembly ,ARQ ,scheduling , andQoS handling . Optimize protocol performance for throughput, latency, and reliability. Collaborate with PHY, RRC, and higher-layer teams for integration and testing. Debug and resolve issues using tools like Wireshark, Trace32, or custom logging frameworks. Ensure compliance with3GPP specificationsand contribute to standardization efforts if needed.Required Skills:-Strong programming skills inC/C++andRTOS/Linuxenvironments. In-depth understanding ofPDCP (ciphering, integrity protection, header compression) . Experience withRLC (AM/UM/TM modes, segmentation, reassembly, ARQ) . Knowledge ofMAC layer (scheduling, HARQ, logical/transport channel mapping) . Familiarity with5G NR and LTE architecture , especially Layer 2/3. Experience withprotocol analyzers ,debugging tools , andunit testing frameworks .Preferred Qualifications:-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or Electronics. Experience withgNB/eNB stack developmentorUE protocol stack .
