Key ResponsibilitiesConduct laboratory tests to evaluate the performance of new products/formulations acrylic, polyurethane etc based products in terms of adhesion, durability, film formation, color consistency, and environmental stability.Provide expertise on coating and film application techniques, including substrate preparation, curing, drying, and application methods (e.g., roll coating, screen printing, spray applications).Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize formulations for production scalability, quality control, and customer requirements.Work with customers to understand their specific needs and customize products for unique applications.Competitor sample analysis, report creation, and thorough documentation of the project assigned.Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and regulations related to coatings, inks, and films.Skills RequiredStrong background in chemistry, polymer science, material science, or a related field, with an emphasis on coatings and its application.Practical experience in application testing for coatings on films (BOPP, BOPET, PE, PET etc).Familiarity with application equipment and processes like printing, coating lines, curing, and drying.Ability to analyse and interpret complex data to improve product performance.Problem-solving skills focused on resolving customer issues and improving product efficiency.Excellent communication and presentation skills to collaborate across different teams and present findings.Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is requiredTechnical/Functional Proficiency RequiredExpertise in coating application techniques, including roller coating, printing, spray coating, dip coating, brush application etc.Knowledge of surface preparation, priming, and curing processes (e.g., air drying, oven curing, UV curing).Knowledge of environmental regulations such as FDA compliances, VOC content limits, REACH, and other safety standards in coatings.Ability to provide technical support to customers, understanding their needs, and adapting coatings to meet specific requirements.Troubleshooting on-site application issues and ensuring customer satisfaction with product performance.Educational Qualifications - Bachelor's/Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Surface Chemistry, Materials Engineering, or Coating Technology.Experience Level (If applicable) - Minimum 5-10 years of experience in the relevant field is preferred.
