Job OverviewWe are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Livestock Development Assistant (VLDA) / Paravet to join our team. The VLDA will play a key role in providing veterinary care, supporting livestock health initiatives, and ensuring overall animal welfare. This role is ideal for someone passionate about animal health and welfare, with a hands-on approach to veterinary assistance in livestock.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist veterinarians in the diagnosis and treatment of animals, including administering medications and vaccinations.Perform routine check-ups and minor treatments for livestock under the supervision of a veterinarian.Assist with health management programs, including parasite control, reproductive health, and nutrition.Educate farmers and livestock owners on best practices for animal health, biosecurity, and disease prevention.Collect samples for laboratory testing as required, ensuring accurate handling and transport.Maintain detailed records of treatments, vaccinations, and other veterinary procedures.Assist in animal husbandry practices, including feeding, breeding, and maintaining hygienic living conditions for livestock.Respond to emergency cases and provide basic first aid to injured or sick animals.Support the development and implementation of vaccination and animal welfare programs in local communities.Qualifications and RequirementsEducational Background: Diploma in Veterinary Science (VLDA) or related field.
