Industry: Battery Technology Experience Level: Mid-Level (minimum 2 years in Plastic injection molding) Reports To: Chief Design Officer About Offgrid Energy Labs Offgrid is an IP-focused, zinc-battery-tech company. We have developed ZincGel® battery technology primarily for renewable and grid-scale energy storage. Our mission is to reduce dependency on lithium-ion batteries in stationary energy storage; and enable a cleaner, more resilient energy grid with safe, cost-effective, and sustainable battery solutions. As we scale from prototype to production, we’re looking for a talented CAD Designer to join our engineering team and help bring our vision to life Position Overview As a CAD Designer, you will be instrumental in translating engineering concepts into detailed 3D models and manufacturing-ready drawings. You’ll collaborate closely with injection molding firms, and mechanical/manufacturing engineers to develop components, assemblies, and enclosure systems for the ZincGel® battery products. Your designs will be central to how our technology comes together—both in form and function Key Responsibilities: -       Develop and create detailed 2D, 3D CAD models and drawings using parametric and surface modeling techniques -       Perform design modifications and optimizations to improve product performance and manufacturability -       Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs (Bill of Materials) -       Conduct feasibility studies and provide input on design changes based on simulation results, with a solid understanding of meshing for simulation -       Work closely with Mold makers and Vendors for tryout and adherence to Design -       Apply knowledge of materials, including plastics and metals, to select appropriate materials for different components and assemblies Required Qualifications: -       Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or Four Year Diploma in Tool & Die Making or a related field -       Minimum of 2 years of experience in CAD design, preferably in Plastic injection molding -       Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar) -       Strong expertise in parametric modeling and surface modeling -       Basic understanding of simulation techniques, including meshing for FEA/CFD -       Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as Injection molding, RIM and Compression Molding -       Knowledge of material properties, particularly plastics and metals Preferred Qualifications: -       Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment -       Hands-on experience in prototyping and testing -       Knowledge of Injection Molding Why Join Us -       Be part of a mission-driven team working on breakthrough clean energy tech -       Opportunity to shape product design from the ground up -       Collaborative and flexible startup environment -       Competitive salary To Apply: Along with the 'Easy Apply', please send your resume and a brief non-confidential portfolio (if available) to Please note : Due to the volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
