At Visy India, their technology hub in Hyderabad, they are expanding their technical capabilities to support their global business.Primary responsibilities of the Role:The Lead Technical Analyst, SAP BASIS & DB Administrator is accountable for:Interpret business requirements to be able to design and develop high quality solutions having high regard to proper design principles, including, but not limited to, the use of standard transactions and functionality, code reuse, system stability, performance and flexibilityDesign of solutions/alternatives that deliver on exact functionality, performance, robustness and systems integration expectations.Constantly strive to deliver high quality solutions within set timeframes, in line with key performance indicators (KPI’s), e.g., solution delivery dates and times and related service-level agreementsInterpret business requirements to be able to design and develop high quality solutions having high regard to proper design principles, including, but not limited to, the use of standard transactions and functionality, system stability, performance and flexibilityDesign of solutions/alternatives that deliver on exact functionality, performance, robustness and systems integration expectationsProvide BAU and ongoing support of the VISY SAP environment, including supporting existing business solutions; addressing production issues; recommending and implementing solutions as needed, and researching/implementing relevant OSS notesRespond to incidents and problems through the development of technical solutions and processes in line with service level agreements and key performance indicators for service deliveryIdentify areas for improvement and recommend standards, tools and new technologies to support business initiativesEngage with the customer(s) to facilitate and determine the nature of the business requirementsExperience & Qualifications:Mandatory:Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related fieldProficiency in managing SAP systems on both Unix/Linux and Windows platformsSolid understanding of system monitoring tools and performance tuningExcellent knowledge and familiarity with all administration aspects in different SAP solutions like ERP, BI, Solman, Gateway, HANA DB etc.Knowledge/awareness of commercial & IT business best-practices with a high degree of problem solving and technical skillsRole is expected to have occasional on-call responsibilities interaction with clients for consultation, project execution, SAP landscape performance tuning, and other activities associated with support of leveraged SAP environmentsFamiliarity with different databases (HANA, MSSQL etc) and understanding the backup and recovery processes in SAP environmentIn-depth understanding of SAP Basis components, including kernel upgrades, client administration, installation, patching and transport managementExperience with cloud-based SAP environments (e.g., AWS, Azure)Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integrations and enhancementsExcellent assessment, design and development capabilities applicable to tasks ranging from simple business processes to architecting and developing sophisticated systems and areas of functionalityAbility to articulate and provide specialist advice in a complex environmentInvolvement in a mixture of new/existing application security solutions, maintenance and 3rd level technical supportEffective testing/quality control managementStrong documentation skills – including training documentation using multiple media/methods and the ability to clearly document requirements using project management principles. Documenting all security measures, procedures, and incidents for future referenceKey Technical Skills:Skills (Technical, Business, Leadership):6+ years of solid hands-on experience on SAP Basis administration in different SAP solutions like ECC, Gateway, BI and on different operating systems and databases and at least 1 one year of HANA DB administrationDatabase administration MSSQL and SAP HANA, ability to perform database upgrades, apply fix packs, optimizing and tuning databases, handle nightly backups and their integration with third party backup systems, backup and restore strategies, database security, database problem determination and resolutionInstallation, upgrade and maintenance of SAP and SAP related software productsMaintain HANA database, perform patch and service stack upgradesPerform SAP Software Installation, maintenance and administration of UNIX and Windows based servers running SAP ECC, BI, Solution Manager, Hana, Gateway, SAP Cloud appliancesDaily monitoring, administrating, troubleshooting and tuning of all SAP systemsManage SAP transport management, client copies, and system refreshes to ensure consistency across environmentsExperience with the automation of the system administration tasks using RPA’s or any other external/internal tools and familiarity with scripting languagesParticipate in disaster recovery planning and execution, ensuring business continuity for critical SAP systemsConduct system copies, migrations, and data backup/restoration processes to safeguard business continuityWork with OS & DB Administrators for optimal SAP PerformanceKnowledge on BTP services is an added advantageKnowledge on SAP IDM and how it centralizes and simplifies user access management across SAP environmentsExperience on tools like solution manager or any other security tools, to perform regular security audits and compliance checks in identifying and mitigating the vulnerabilities proactivelyManage user roles and permissions on SAP BTPDevelop and implement comprehensive security strategy for SAP BTPStaying up to date with the latest security threats and vulnerabilities, and implementing measures to protect the SAP system against themBusiness process review and re-engineering – ability to identify and develop new approaches, drive changes and produce creative solutionsExperience in using ServiceNow (SNOW) or a similar ticketing solutionProject management – good knowledge of project management methodology in the setting of tasks, timelines, resource/effort allocation, budget management, etc.Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and CI/CD practices in SAP environments is preferredCertified consultants in any of the admin related SAP solutions is preferred
