Preventai is a fast-growing Swedish AI company transforming how surveillance infrastructure is used in retail. Our platform connects to existing camera systems and applies advanced Video Language Models (VLMs) to detect incidents and generate real-time alerts. We work with some of Sweden’s largest grocery chains and are expanding our team to support increasingly complex networked environments.We are now looking for an experienced Network & Security Camera Engineer to lead secure, high-performance video transmission from client locations to centralized processing systems.About the RoleYou will be responsible for integrating Preventai’s platform into existing CCTV infrastructures, ensuring reliable and secure video transmission across diverse physical and network environments. This role requires expertise in networking, VPN architecture, IP camera systems, and video streaming protocols. You will work closely with client technical teams, Preventai engineers, and deployment personnel to ensure seamless setup and long-term performance.ResponsibilitiesDesign, configure, and deploy secure site-to-site VPNs to transmit video data to Preventai’s cloud or edge analytics nodesSet up and maintain firewalls, routers, and switches with attention to routing, security, and traffic prioritization (QoS)Optimize transmission of high-resolution video feeds using RTSP, RTMP, SRT, and HLS protocolsIntegrate with existing IP cameras, NVRs, and VMS platforms while adapting to legacy hardware constraintsConfigure long-range wireless connections (P2P and P2MP) where physical cabling is not viableMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks across the entire video pipeline—from camera to end destinationDocument configurations and network topologies to support scalability and operational handoverRequired SkillsAdvanced Networking: Deep knowledge of routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, and firewall configurations (preferred: MikroTik, Ubiquiti, Cisco)QoS Implementation: Practical experience ensuring bandwidth prioritization for video transmissionStreaming Protocols & Codecs: Strong command of RTSP, RTMP, SRT, HLS and H.264/H.265 codecsVPN & Security: Track record of deploying secure site-to-site VPN tunnels and managing encrypted video transportWireless Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with deploying and managing P2P and P2MP wireless bridge solutionsCCTV System Integration: Solid understanding of IP camera systems, NVRs, and VMS platforms (e.g., Milestone, Axis, Dahua)Troubleshooting: Strong diagnostic skills across video, networking, and infrastructure layersNice to HaveExperience working with edge computing devices or local AI appliancesFamiliarity with remote device monitoring tools and VPN orchestration platformsUnderstanding of data privacy, encryption standards, and GDPR compliance in video surveillanceSituated or can move to BangaloreWhat We OfferWork in a high-impact role within a Swedish funded AI companyDirect influence on how cutting-edge AI systems are deployed across real-world infrastructuresAccess to a highly technical team with expertise in AI, computer vision, and systems engineeringCompetitive compensation and benefitsRemote-first setup with occasional on-site fieldworkOpportunity to define and scale infrastructure practices from the ground upHow to ApplySend your CV, project references, and any documentation relevant to past CCTV or network integration work.
