This role bridges creative design with constructability, ensuring that landscape concepts are both visually compelling and practically executable. The designer works closely with clients, architects, engineers, and construction teams to deliver functional, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing outdoor environments.Key Responsibilities: Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed landscape design plans for residential, commercial, or public spaces.Create construction documentation including planting plans, hardscape layouts, grading, drainage, irrigation, and lighting plans.Translate design intent into construction-ready drawings and specifications. Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and consultants to ensure designs are practical and achievable on-site. Conduct site analysis including topography, soil, climate, and existing vegetation to inform design solutions.Prepare material specifications, project schedules and assist in cost estimates preparation Stay informed about industry trends, sustainable practices, and new materials or technologies. 7. Ensure compliance with local zoning laws, environmental regulations, and building codes.8. Use software tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite for visualizations and technical documentation. 9. Attend client meetings, site visits, and construction walkthroughs as needed.Qualifications: Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, Urban Design or related field. 10-15 years of experience in landscape design with a focus on construction documentation. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and detailing. Proficiency in CAD software and 3D visualization tools. Ability to interpret and create technical drawings and specifications.Excellent design sense with strong graphic and communication skills. Knowledge of horticulture, grading, drainage, and irrigation systems. Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams and managing client relationships.Preferred:Professional licensure or in pursuit of licensure (e.g., RLA). LEED, SITES, or other sustainability credentials. Experience with BIM or GIS tools.
