Job OverviewDexHigh is hiring a full-time Unity VFX Artist for our upcoming fantasy-style, medieval-themed game. We’re looking for an artist who can either:Build visual effects directly in Unity, orUse other tools (e.g., Houdini, Unreal, etc.) and adapt/match them accurately in Unity.The ideal candidate specializes in real-time magical, elemental, and combat-based effects suitable for gameplay, cinematics, and boss encounters.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement stylized and realistic VFX for spells, abilities, environment effects, and cutscenes.Use Unity’s VFX Graph, Shader Graph, or particle system to create game-ready effects.Adapt effects made in other platforms (Unreal, Houdini, etc.) to match Unity's real-time rendering pipeline.Sync VFX with animation, gameplay events, and story moments.Optimize effects for performance without sacrificing visual quality.Required Skills✔ 3+ years of experience in game VFX (Unity-focused or cross-platform) ✔ Mastery of Unity VFX Graph, Shader Graph, and particle systems ✔ Ability to adapt VFX from Unreal, Houdini, Maya, or CC4 into Unity ✔ Strong portfolio showing magic, elemental, and fantasy-style VFX ✔ Familiarity with animation syncing, skeletal meshes, and gameplay timing ✔ Bonus: Experience with boss FX, cinematic cutscenes, or large-scale spell visualsWhat We’re Looking ForVFX artists who can deliver AAA-level effects with cinematic intensityStrong understanding of timing, silhouette clarity, game readability, and performance optimizationPassion for fantasy themes, magical visuals, and immersive storytelling through VFXFlexible tool usage but committed to Unity as the final delivery platformSalary
