DEPARTMENT: R&D POSITION TITLE: Mid-Level_MAUI mobile engineer tester POSITION REPORTS TO: Team Lead, R&D Software Quality or above BASIC PURPOSE: Responsible for the engineering of software quality for an enterprise level product in a highly regulated environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Participates in the testing process through test design, execution, review and test witnessing in the context of a fast-paced, agile development process. Test software throughout the development cycle, including test planning, scripting and executions, bug management and reporting progress. Participating in Agile practices such as daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, and retrospective. Working alongside other team members such as Software Engineers and Product Owners to produce high quality software. Designing, developing, and executing automation scripts. Reviewing the work of less experienced team members. Creating manual test scripts for functionality which cannot be automated or not yet automated. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Adhere to company policies, procedures, behaviors, and ethics. Is attentive to detail and accuracy, is committed to excellence, looks for improvements continuously, monitors quality levels, finds root cause of quality problems, owns/acts on quality problems. With the assistance & support from management - targets and achieves results, sets challenging goals, prioritizes tasks, overcomes obstacles, responds well to change. Listens to others and values opinions, shares information and ideas with others, and delivers presentations. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of software quality engineering. Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle, practices and scripting languages such as javascript, Ruby, Python, etc. Basic knowledge of SQL. Experience with testing web and/or mobile phone applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively in English. Knowledge of software testing techniques (Functional, Integration, System, Regression). Experienced with test management tools for requirement, test case and defect tracking. Specific experience with Polarion is a plus. Experience of software test automation. Experience with Katalon is a plus. Experience with working directly with Software Developers. Travel requirements for this position: None to Low Knowledge of Agile development processes is a plus. Knowledge of FDA Regulations surrounding 21 CFR Part 11 and cGxP is a plus. Familiarity with DevOps practice and Cloud based software solutions is a plus.
