Title: Category Manager Experience: 10+ Years Location: Kolkata, West Bengal Qualification: MBA Willing to work in: Sports Category (Mandatory) About the Company: The company is one of the largest e-commerce marketplace aggregators. We cover multiple product categories like home appliances, kitchen & dining, tableware & cookware, sporting goods, fitness equipment, travel accessories, luggage, and furniture. Apart from partnering with big household names, we aim to be a launchpad for brands who are willing to grow their e-commerce business by facilitating uninterrupted service from PO release to last-mile delivery. Role Summary: Will be responsible for the category P&L and drive the business growth within their category. He / She will coordinate and collaborate with external business stakeholders (brands associated to the business unit) and internal stakeholders (In-Stock Managers, Vendor Managers, Inventory, Logistics, Marketing, Finance, etc.). The Category Manager will have end-to-end responsibility of the customer experience, category assortment, design targeted promotions, and managing partners including sellers and brands. He / She will anticipate customer needs, incorporate them into the functional road map and enhance the customer experience. Top Deliverables: Design and execute the business strategy for the category in terms of products, assortment, vendors, and customer needs in alignment with the mid & long-term growth plan of the category and organisation. Lead the P&L for the category and ensure key metrics for the brands/products are being maintained as per pricing, discounting, gross margin, RGM, contribution margins, etc. Manage in-stock and vendor managers to identify strategic partners, negotiate terms of trade and payment to suppliers and customers. Work closely with and influence cross-functional teams, senior stakeholders, external brands, and partners to establish long-term business strategies with regular review of short-term performance. Must Have Attributes: 10+ years of experience with relevant exposure in e-commerce/ related fields, pricing, retail buying & management and demand generation. Experience in leading a category, key account management, negotiations, drafting category management strategies for high growth. Excellent understanding of sales data analytics and technology levers for sales enablement. Excellent communication & negotiation skills with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders positively to achieve desired business goals. Strong interpersonal skills and analytical bent of mind with demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding and ambiguous environment. Strong attention to detail and an ability to step back and think holistically. Strong cross-functional collaboration capability and business acumen. Post Graduate Degree with a Master's in Business Administration. Good to Have Attributes: Experience working in a promoter driven organisation.
