We showcase original artworks including paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, crafts, textiles and more. In addition to our online marketplace, we organize physical and virtual exhibitions, auctions, art classes, and creative events through our gallery in Dubai.Role Overview:We are hiring a full-time Art Curator to manage the artist and artwork approval process, and curate a wide range of visual art across both our online platform and physical exhibitions. This is a remote position but involves active participation in planning and curating physical events and art workshops at our Dubai gallery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in art curation and a sharp eye for authenticity, creativity, and detail.Key Responsibilities:Artist & Artwork Curation- Review and verify artist applications for authenticity, credibility, and professionalism.- Approve artists who meet ArtSmiley's standards, and cross-check all submitted profile information.- Curate and approve artworks in all categories: paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, crafts, textiles, etc.- Ensure all artwork details (titles, mediums, sizes, prices, tags) are complete and accurate before approval.- Conduct authenticity and originality checks for every artwork.Online & Physical Exhibitions and Auctions- Curate artworks for online exhibitions and auctions on .- Conceptualize and organize themes for both virtual and physical exhibitions and events.- Assist in curating artworks for physical auctions, shows, and gallery installations in Dubai.- Liaise with artists, vendors, and event coordinators for successful execution of physical events.Workshops, Classes & Public Events- Curate and organize art classes, workshops, and creative public events hosted in our Dubai gallery.- Collaborate with the internal team and visiting artists to plan engaging, community-centered art events.- Help in shortlisting workshop content, instructors, and material planning as needed.Artist Outreach & Community Building- Identify and invite talented artists to join the platform.- Help nurture relationships with artists and recommend them for future exhibitions or events.Requirements:- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Curatorial Studies, or related fields.- 2–4 years of professional experience in art curation, with exposure to both digital and physical formats.- Strong knowledge of various art forms and mediums (paintings, prints, crafts, textiles, sculptures, etc.)- Excellent judgment in evaluating originality, authenticity, and artistic quality.- Proficient in digital tools (Google Workspace, CMS platforms, spreadsheets).- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks remotely.- Comfortable collaborating with local teams for event execution in Dubai.Nice to Have:- Prior experience with physical gallery exhibitions, event coordination, or public programming.- Network within the global or regional art community.- Familiarity with UAE’s art and culture scene.Why Join ArtSmiley?- Full-time remote work with involvement in creative physical events- Creative freedom and leadership in curatorial decisions- Opportunity to grow with a dynamic, global art platform- Supportive and artist-centered teamHow to Apply:Send your resume, cover letter, and any portfolio with curatorial works
