Job Title: AI & Automation Lead – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Location: Remote Employment Type: (Full-time/Freelance)We are seeking an experienced and innovative professional with deep expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing and a strong background in automation and artificial intelligence (AI). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working in pharmaceutical production environments and a proven track record of leveraging AI and automation technologies to optimize manufacturing processes, enhance quality control, and drive operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Lead and execute AI and automation initiatives within pharmaceutical manufacturing processes to improve productivity, efficiency, and compliance.Design and implement AI-driven models for predictive maintenance, process optimization, quality assurance, and anomaly detection.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, IT, Data Science) to identify pain points and develop data-driven solutions.Evaluate and integrate smart manufacturing technologies (e.g., IoT sensors, ML models, robotic process automation) into production lines.Drive continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing operations.Ensure AI/automation solutions are aligned with regulatory compliance standards (GMP, FDA, etc.).Analyze manufacturing data to generate insights, reduce deviations, and ensure consistent product quality.Lead pilot projects, assess ROI, and scale successful solutions across the manufacturing network.Stay updated on emerging AI and Industry 4.0 trends relevant to pharma manufacturing.Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Data Science, or a related field.Minimum 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or production operations.Strong exposure to automation technologies (e.g., SCADA, PLCs, MES systems) used in pharma.Proven experience in deploying AI/ML projects in a manufacturing or quality control environment.Working knowledge of data analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and cGMP requirements.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.Experience with digital twins, PAT (Process Analytical Technology), or computer vision applications is a plus.Preferred Certifications (a plus):Six Sigma or Lean ManufacturingCertified Automation Professional (CAP)AI/ML certifications (e.g., from Coursera, AWS, or Google Cloud)GAMP 5 or other pharma system validation standards
