Job Description: Senior Director - Fundraising and Communications, Avanti Fellows Position Summary: The Senior Director will lead Avanti’s fundraising, grant management, board engagement, and communications strategy. This includes securing funding from domestic and international foundations, corporations, and donors to support a growing annual budget of >60 Cr INR with a target of 30% y-o-y growth. They will oversee a team driving strategic partnerships, donor stewardship, grant compliance, and communications while strengthening Avanti's brand presence. Ideal candidates will have experience building teams, nurturing donor relationships, and a strong passion for Avanti’s mission. Nonprofit experience is not mandatory. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to ● Develop and execute Avanti’s fundraising and communications strategy. ● Identify, cultivate, and secure funding from diverse sources, including foundations, corporations, and high-net-worth individuals. ● Oversee grant management processes: proposal development, compliance, field visits, reporting, and renewals. ● Collaborate with internal teams to gather data, create compelling impact narratives, donor reports, and communications. ● Maintain and expand relationships with donors, philanthropic partners, and stakeholders. ● Drive unrestricted fundraising campaigns and initiatives. ● Support Board engagement with reports, presentations, and strategic updates. ● Lead, mentor, and manage the fundraising and communications team. ● Develop and implement effective external communication strategies (e.g., website, newsletters, social media, reports). ● Represent Avanti at donor meetings, conferences, and sector events. ● Monitor and report on fundraising performance, pipelines, and communications effectiveness. Ideal candidate qualifications ● Graduate with 10-15 years of experience in fundraising, wealth management, business development, or sales. ● Experience in education, donor prospecting, grant management, and communications is a plus. ● Proven success in building relationships with donors/clients and expanding funding portfolios. ● Proficiency in creating strategic documents (grant proposals, impact reports, presentations). ● Experience in building and managing high-performance teams. ● Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines. ● Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. ● High emotional intelligence and stakeholder management abilities. ● Strategic, adaptable, and aligned with Avanti’s mission.
