Job Duties & Responsibilities:Akhand Jyoti (Unit of Yugrishi Shriram Sharma Acharya Trust) seeks a dedicated and skilled Proposal and Report Writer with a strong writing and content development background to join our team remotely. The candidate will be responsible for developing, writing, and submitting high-quality proposals and reports to foundations, government agencies, and other institutional corporate donors. This role requires close collaboration with program, finance, and senior leadership teams to ensure that all submissions are accurate, timely, and align with Akhand Jyoti’s mission and impact goals.Key ResponsibilitiesProposal DevelopmentProposal Writing: Craft compelling and tailored proposals, concept notes, letters of inquiry (LOIs), Request for Proposals (RFPs), and other documents that meet donor requirements and showcase the organization's impact.Proposal Tracking: Maintain a calendar and tracking system for proposal submissions, deadlines, and follow-ups.Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with program staff to gather programmatic insights and with the finance team for accurate budget planning.Submission Management: Coordinate internal reviews, obtain approvals, and manage timelines to ensure timely submission of proposals.Report WritingDonor Reporting: Prepare interim and final reports that communicate the outcomes and financial accountability of funded projects, adhering to donor-specific formats and guidelines.Project Monitoring: Work with program teams to track project milestones and collect data for reports.Donor Compliance: Ensure reports comply with donor guidelines, ensuring accuracy and completeness.Donor Engagement: Maintain regular, professional communication with donors to address inquiries and provide ongoing updates.Grant and Relationship ManagementGrant Compliance: Ensure grant agreements align with organizational objectives and support successful grant management across teams.Donor Relationship Building: Foster positive relationships with donors through clear, consistent communication and periodic updates.Qualifications and RequirementsExperience: At least 10–15 years of experience in proposal writing for institutional fundraising, particularly with foundations, government agencies, or international organizations within the social development sector.Skills:Strong writing, editing, and research skills with the ability to adapt messaging.Excellent project management skills, with experience meeting tight deadlines.Knowledge of grant-making processes and familiarity with major donors (e.g., USAID, UN, World Bank).Proficiency in budgeting for proposals and reviewing financial documents.Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.Work Environment This role is fully remote, but often requires availability to operate according to USA (GMT-4) time zones as and when needed.
