We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Draftsman to support the design and engineering of solar power plants. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and professional technical drawings and layouts for photovoltaic (PV) systems, including site plans, electrical schematics, and structural layouts. Experience in solar projects or renewable energy is preferred. About the Role The AutoCAD Draftsman will play a crucial role in the design and engineering of solar power plants, ensuring that all technical drawings and layouts are accurate and professional. Responsibilities Prepare detailed 2D/3D drawings and layouts for solar PV systems using AutoCAD. Generate electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), general arrangement (GA) drawings, mounting structure layouts, trench and cable routing diagrams. Develop site plans based on topographical data, survey drawings, and client requirements. Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and field technicians to translate design concepts into construction-ready drawings. Revise drawings based on feedback from engineering teams or project stakeholders. Ensure drawings comply with relevant standards, codes, and project specifications. Maintain drawing documentation, version control, and drawing logs for multiple projects. Assist in preparing bill of materials (BOMs) and as-built drawings. Qualifications Diploma or Degree in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D is a plus). Minimum 2–3 years of drafting experience, preferably in solar energy or electrical/Mechanical infrastructure. Understanding of PV system components: modules, inverters, combiner boxes, etc. Familiarity with electrical and civil drafting standards and symbols. Experience with other CAD software (e.g., PVsyst, SketchUp, Revit, or Helioscope) is an advantage. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines. Preferred Skills Previous work on utility-scale or commercial rooftop solar projects. Knowledge of local and international electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC) will be an advantage. GIS or survey data integration experience is a bonus.
