This candidate will consult on complex tax matters and oversee the tax compliance process for financial institutions and financial services companies, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Tasks will include leading a team, advising, researching and identifying tax issues, recommending solutions to customer issues, and engagement management. The Tax Manager will delegate and manage tax assignments and perform administrative duties, as needed. The Tax Manager is responsible for training, supporting, supervising, motivating, developing, and reviewing the work of their engagement team. Responsibilities: Developing and sustaining excellent customer relationships in our markets Performing a technical review of federal and state tax research, work papers, allocations, and tax returns Reviewing and assisting with income tax accounting reporting Being anticipatory and consulting on various tax matters Working alongside the audit service line within the firm, perform audit procedures on income tax provisions and underlying work papers to ensure ASC 740 compliance Actively communicating progress of engagements, problems, and resolutions to customers Collaborating cross-functionally within the firm to grow existing business and offer a variety of business solutions to customers and prospects Facilitating economic performance of engagements, including billing and collections Continuously improving specialty area knowledge and professional development Coaching and developing team members to their maximum potential, providing ongoing feedback and development opportunities throughout the year Developing and growing a business network with colleagues, referral relationships, potential customers, and external organizations to attract new business Representing the firm in the business community and being active within professional organizations Promoting a culture of engagement, inclusion, and accountability for the organization’s core values and competencies for the teams that you lead. Setting and achieving stretch goals on a regular basis that increases your value and contribution to the organization Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and/ or master’s degree in accounting, finance, must Enrolled Agent License or CPA certification , required Minimum 5 years of recent public accounting firm experience Experience with corporate tax accounting, ASC 740 preferred International tax experience, a plus Strong oral and written communication skills Excellent communication and networking acumen Leadership and project/team management skills Ability to manage and grow strong customer relationships Working Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is expected to work in our office. Flexibility is granted to employees to work remotely on an as-needed basis. Position Type / Expected Billable Hours of Work: Full-time / 40 hours per week, with some overtime as required. Busy Season / Extended hours required, will scale up not to exceed 65 -70 hours per week. NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
