Job Title: Smart Energy Meter PCBA & Product Debugging Associate Department:Testing & Debugging / Production / Quality Reporting To:Debug Supervisor / Production Manager / QA Manager Experience:3–5 Years Minimum Qualification:Diploma in Electronics / ITI in Electronics Industry:Electronic Metering / EMS Location:Hyderabad PlantJob Summary: The Smart Energy Meter Debugging Associate is responsible for identifying and resolving faults in energy meter PCBs (PCBAs) and finished products. The role involves in-depth debugging at the component and circuit level, root cause analysis, and collaboration with QA, R&D, and production teams to ensure defect-free output and continuous product quality improvement.Key Responsibility Areas (KRA): PCBA and Product-Level Debugging Perform fault diagnosis on energy meter PCBs using standard testing tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, LCR meter, etc.). Debug analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for component-level failures or circuit issues. Debug communication interfaces (RS-485, RF, GSM, DLMS/Modbus protocols) used in smart meters. Root Cause Analysis and Defect Reporting Conduct structured RCA (Root Cause Analysis) for failures and document findings. Categorize faults as component, process, or design-related and escalate as needed. Collaboration with QA and Engineering Liaise with QA, design, and production engineering teams to address repetitive issues. Suggest process or design improvements based on debugging findings. Documentation & Traceability Maintain accurate debugging records in predefined formats (manual or ERP system). Ensure traceability of reworked/debugged boards with serial numbers and repair status. Testing Support Assist in final product testing and functional validation after rework/debug. Support field return (RMA) analysis and suggest countermeasures. Tool Maintenance and Safety Compliance Handle and maintain ESD-safe tools and diagnostic instruments. Follow lab safety and quality protocols strictly.Key Performance Indicators (KPI): KPI Target / BenchmarkFirst-Time Debug Fix Rate ≥ 95% Mean Time to Debug (MTTD) As per product complexity (e.g.,Repeat Failure Rate (Post-Debug) ≤ 2% Debug Accuracy / Root Cause Identification ≥ 98% accuracy Defect Categorization Reporting Accuracy ≥ 99% Customer Complaint/Field Return Contribution (RCA & Debug) 100% closure within TAT Daily/Weekly Debug Report Submission Compliance 100% timely reporting Participation in Quality/Process Improvement Initiatives At least 1 improvement suggestion per monthSkills and Competencies: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Good understanding of analog/digital electronics and embedded systems Familiarity with smart energy meter functionality, DLMS/IEC protocols preferred Proficient with test instruments like DMM, oscilloscope, signal generator, etc. Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, or other quality systems (preferred) Ability to read and interpret schematics and test reportsPreferred Certifications (if available): IPC-A-610 / IPC-7711/7721 Certification ESD Safety Awareness Training Debug/Repair training for embedded systemsHow to apply, where:recruitment@Subject – Debugging Associate_experience_name e.g. Debugging Associate_7.5_nafisa
