Key Responsibilities: Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models meeting business requirements and strategic initiatives. Design, Develop and maintain Insurance Data models. Collaborate with business stakeholders and data engineers to understand data needs and translate them into effective data models. Analyze and evaluate existing data models and databases to identify opportunities for optimization, standardization, and improvement. Define data standards, naming conventions, and data governance policies to ensure consistency, integrity, and quality of data models. Develop and maintain documentation of data models, data dictionaries, STTM, and metadata to facilitate understanding and usage of data assets. Implement best practices for data modelling, including normalization, denormalization, indexing, partitioning, and optimization techniques. Work closely with database administrators to ensure proper implementation and maintenance of data models in database management systems. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data modelling, database design, and data management. Must-have Skills: 6–8 years of hands-on experience in data modelling, including database design, dimensional modelling (star/snowflake schemas). Hands-on experience in implementing Data Models for Policy, Claims, and Finance subject areas within the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain. Proficiency in data modelling tools such as erwin, ER/Studio, or PowerDesigner. Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases, primarily SQL Server. Exposure to design principles and best practices for Data Lakes and Lakehouse architectures. Experience with big data platforms (e.g., Spark). Strong documentation skills including data dictionaries, STTM, ER models etc. Familiarity with data warehouse design principles, ETL processes, and data integration techniques. Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and infrastructure. Nice-to-have Skills: Expertise in advanced data modelling techniques for Real-time/Near real-time data solutions Experience with NoSQL data modelling. Handson experience on any BI tool. Your Key Accountabilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data models with business and technical requirements. Define and enforce best practices for data modelling and database design. Provide technical guidance on database optimization and performance tuning. Draft technical guidelines, documentation, and data dictionaries to standardize data modelling practices.
