This opening is for Club Car’s India engineering center at Bangalore, IndiaSUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:The Design Engineer will create and develop mechanical designs using Creo, manage design data and workflows through Windchill, and build and test prototypes to verify manufacturability, ensures proper form, fit and function and compliance with engineering standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine designs for performance, cost, and production efficiency.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Create and develop mechanical designs and 3D models using Creo CAD software.Manage and maintain design data, revisions, and workflows through Windchill PLM system.Build and test prototypes to validate manufacturability, form, fit, and function.Ensure all designs meet applicable engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality guidelines.Analyze test results and refine designs based on prototype evaluations.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, testing, and quality to optimize designs for performance, cost, and production efficiency.Support design reviews, documentation preparation, and release processes.Identify and implement improvements to enhance product reliability, durability, and ease of manufacturing.Own sustaining engineering projects and support engineering teams in NPD and VAVE projects.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, NTTF, GTTC, or equivalent, with 5–8 years of experience in Creo for part modeling, sheet metal design, drafting, and assembly creation.Or Bachelor’s in Engineering (BE) in Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering with 3-6 years of experience.EXPERIENCE:Hands-on experience working in Creo modeling and drafting, windchill PLM environment for data and workflow management.Proven experience in sustaining engineering projects, including handling ECNs (Engineering Change Notices) and ECRs (Engineering Change Requests).Prior experience in the automotive industry is an added advantage.Good understanding of core mechanical engineering principles.Good knowledge of manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, casting, machining, plastic molding, and extrusion.Practical experience with application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance analysis.Experience in Creo surfacing will be preferred.Proficient verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and deliver results responsibly.Basic level skills in MS Office, Excel, MS Project, Visio.KEY COMPETENCIES:CAD Expertise: Proficient in creating 3D models and detailed mechanical designs using Creo CAD software.PLM System Knowledge: Skilled in managing design data, revisions, and workflows through Windchill PLM.Prototype Development: Ability to build, and evaluate prototypes for manufacturability, form, fit, and function.Engineering Standards Compliance: Good understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance processes.Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze test results, identify design weaknesses, and refine solutions based on data-driven insights.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effective communication and teamwork skills to work with manufacturing, testing, quality, and other engineering teams.Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Proficient in optimizing designs for production efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and product quality.Documentation and Review: Attention to detail in preparing design documents, supporting design reviews, and ensuring smooth release processes.Problem Solving and Innovation: Capability to identify opportunities for design improvement and implement enhancements to product reliability and durability.Project Ownership: Proactive approach in leading sustaining engineering projects and supporting NPD (New Product Development) and VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) initiatives.Continuous Improvement Mindset: Commitment to driving process improvements and contributing to engineering excellence.
