Job Title : DRI Mechanical Incharge Location : VISA Special Steel Limited, Kalinganagar Industrial Complex, Jajpur, Odisha (Plant Location) Department : DRI, Mechanical Reports To : Head, DRIJob Summary : The DRI Mechanical In charge will be responsible for overseeing all mechanical maintenance, and project management within the Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) plant. The role demands strategic leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in mechanical processes to ensure optimal plant performance, reliability, and safety.Key Responsibilities : Oversee the maintenance and repair of all mechanical equipment in the DRI plant, including compressors, conveyors, kilns, and other critical Equipment. Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment. Ensure the timely resolution of any mechanical issues to avoid production disruptions. Lead and manage the mechanical department, including maintenance teams, technicians, and engineers. Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and reliability of mechanical systems and equipment. Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards. Lead mechanical projects, including the installation of new equipment, plant upgrades, and modifications. Coordinate with other departments and external agencies to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to enhance plant efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Utilize data and performance metrics to drive decision-making and track the effectiveness of mechanical operations. Ensure all mechanical activities comply with regulatory and company standards. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment histories, and project records. Ensure proper spare Management plan in place and coordinate for availability of spares.Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the steel or manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of DRI processes, plant machinery, and equipment. Proven experience in 500 TPD DRI maintenance, project management, and team leadership. Excellent Trouble Shooting, problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
