Qualifications Required: The Times of India is the flagship publication of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd. It is the world’s largest English broadsheet daily newspaper and covers a wide range of news interests like political, business, sports, entertainment, lifestyle, etc. TOI is built on the key principle to question conventional wisdom and present a comprehensive perspective to the reader for the news around us. The TOI Editorial function is the driving force behind the generation of content that shapes the reader experience. With a focus on news and analysis, this function constantly endeavours to implement path-breaking ideas and drive value-creation innovation Position Summary: Co-ordinate with reporters and photographers to generate all important stories, package and slot to ensure no important stories are missed out, make pages and give catchy captions, straps ensuring a high quality and engaging edition. Areas of Responsibility Edit articles, select photos and give story ideas, give headlines and captions and edit copies. Liaise with reporters for graphic matter and stories and with photographers on photos in order to ensure that no important stories are missed and readers get the correct picture of an event. Make pages, give correct and catchy headlines, give smart taglines adages and provide informative captions and make attractive and informative graphics and edit and rewrite stories in order to produce error-free, informative and attractive pages. Make pages, draw dummies for the assigned edition, decide on stories and pictures to be taken in order to produce a visually pleasing page. Scan the agencies and make a list of relevant stories which are not being covered by reporters in order to maintain the paper’s edge over competitors and ensure that no story is missed. Key skills/competencies: Language skills Well-read and proficient in written and spoken English. Good news sense. Tech savvy in order to keep up with the new software’s being introduced Educational Qualifications Required: Graduation degree in any discipline preferably in English with degree or diploma in Journalism/mass communication Relevant Experience experience Required - 2-5 years What is in it For You?
