Production Planning & Control (PPC) Manager – Home Textiles / Woven Textiles Location: (Factory Location – e.g., Karur, Tamil Nadu) Experience Required: 5 to 10 Years Educational Qualification: Diploma / B.Tech / B.Sc in Textile Technology, Apparel Production, or relevant field Reports To: Deputy General Manager – Production Planning & Control Role Summary: The PPC Manager will be responsible for end-to-end planning, monitoring, and control of production activities across weaving, dyeing, stitching, and finishing units. This includes capacity planning, material requirement planning, and schedule adherence to ensure on-time delivery with cost and resource optimization. The role demands coordination across multiple departments and usage of advanced planning tools to drive efficiency. Key Responsibilities: 1. Production Planning & Scheduling Create and monitor master production plans based on order confirmations and delivery timelines. Develop weekly and daily production schedules aligned with capacity and raw material availability. Prioritize orders based on lead times, buyer importance, and production readiness. Collaborate with merchandising, procurement, and QA teams for smooth workflow. 2. Capacity & Load Planning Assess and allocate machine and manpower capacity based on incoming order volumes. Balance production load across units to avoid under/overutilization. Identify bottlenecks and propose actionable solutions. 3. Material Requirement Planning (MRP) Calculate yarn, fabric, accessories, and packaging requirements based on BOM and production targets. Track and follow up on material availability with purchase and stores. Ensure zero material shortages that affect line feeding or dispatches. 4. Shop Floor Monitoring & Control Monitor daily output against plan; drive corrective actions in case of deviations. Maintain visibility of WIP at all stages through dashboards or tracking systems. Conduct regular production review meetings with floor in-charges and supervisors. 5. Team Leadership & People Management Lead a team of PPC executives or planners to ensure timely and accurate planning execution. Train and mentor team members on planning best practices and systems usage. Coordinate with department heads (weaving, dyeing, sewing, etc.) for integrated planning. 6. System & Tool Utilization Work with ERP / MIS / PPC software (e.g., WFX, Fastreact, SAP, customized in-house tools). Develop automated Excel dashboards and T&A charts for tracking orders and capacity. Use visual tools like Gantt charts, heatmaps, and color-coded systems for status reporting. Exposure to AI-based predictive analytics or automated planning tools is a plus. 7. Data Analysis & Reporting Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering: Production vs. Plan Capacity utilization Order adherence Delay reasons and corrective actions Analyze trends to improve future planning accuracy and decision-making. 8. Compliance & Process Excellence Maintain documentation for audits and ensure planning activities align with buyer and internal SOPs. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the planning function (e.g., Lean, 5S, Six Sigma). Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of home textiles production processes: yarn, weaving, dyeing, stitching, finishing Effective communication and cross-functional coordination Hands-on experience in team handling and multi-unit planning Proficient in MS Excel, planning software, and ERP systems Result-oriented mindset with ability to work under pressure Preferred Exposure: Handled planning for global buyers (e.g., Europe & US brands ) Worked in textile clusters like Karur, Erode, Tirupur, or Panipat Implemented automated planning tools or dashboards Led a planning team of 2–5 people or more Note: Willingness to work onsite – Karur and relocate.
