Years of Experience: 7-9 years The Wintel Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining the Windows server and desktop infrastructure within an organization. They are responsible for both hardware and software aspects of the Windows environment. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain Windows server and desktop infrastructure. Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems. Manage Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and security. Monitor and optimize system performance, including capacity planning and performance tuning. Install, update, and patch server and desktop applications. Manage backups and disaster recovery procedures. Collaborate with other IT teams and vendors to resolve issues and implement solutions. Provide technical support to end-users for Windows-related issues. Document and maintain system configurations and procedures. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies related to Windows server and desktop infrastructure. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Wintel Engineer or a similar role. Strong knowledge of Windows server and desktop operating systems. Experience with Active Directory and group policy management. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automating tasks. Understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V). Familiarity with storage technologies (e.g., SAN, NAS). Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
