Job Description

Position -- Permanent Role – Playwright QA Experience – 4-8 Years Location – Chennai/Bangalore Work Mode - WFO Shift Timing – Afternoon (2pm – 11pm) About the Company Movate is a new age services company that harnesses the power of digital technologies to reimagine customer engagements. Black-Box Testing: Black-box testing focuses on validating the functionality of software without knowing its internal code or structure. Testers evaluate the system based on inputs and expected outputs, ensuring that the application behaves as intended under various conditions. This approach is essential for identifying defects in functionality, usability, and performance from an end-user perspective. Manual Testing Responsibilities: Design, develop, and execute manual test cases for web and mobile applications based on functional requirements. Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing to identify defects. Conduct black box testing to validate application functionality and ensure compliance with user expectations. Test and validate functionality within multi-channel commerce or ERP systems to ensure seamless user experiences. Leverage testing methodologies like equivalence partitioning and boundary value analysis to enhance test coverage and effectiveness. Document and track defects in JIRA, providing detailed reproduction steps and severity classifications. Collaborate with developers to resolve issues and verify fixes. Plan, prioritize, and execute testing activities to meet deadlines and quality goals. Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, procedures, and test cases. Conduct usability and performance testing to improve the user experience. Provide feedback on product quality and suggest improvements where applicable. Automation Testing Responsibilities: Plan and prioritize automation testing activities. Write, design, and execute automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically. Maximize test coverage for the most critical features of the system. Determine the priority for test scenarios and create execution plans to implement these scenarios. Write documentation for automated processes, including test plans, test procedures, and test cases. Build and maintain test automation frameworks. Log and document bugs in the tracking system. Set up and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Skill Set Required: Functional & Automation Testing Expertise: Strong experience in designing, executing, and automating test cases for web and API testing. Black-Box Testing Skills: Proficiency in performing black-box testing to validate application functionality and uncover defects. Bug Reporting & Tracking: Proven ability to identify, document, and track defects in issue-tracking systems such as JIRA. Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to reproduce and resolve issues. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze bug reports, prioritize test cases, and optimize application functionality through testing. Attention to Detail: Able to meticulously test applications to isolate problems and ensure high-quality releases. Hands-On Testing Experience: Experience testing in multi-channel commerce systems or ERP systems. Testing Methodologies: Proficiency in methodologies such as equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, and risk-based testing. Automation Expertise: Experience in writing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts using Selenium, Playwright, or similar frameworks. Tools Knowledge: Issue Tracking: Proficiency in JIRA or similar defect tracking and task management tools. Documentation Tools: Familiarity with Confluence for creating and maintaining test documentation. Testing Tools: Knowledge of manual and automation testing tools such as TestRail, Selenium, Playwright. Version Control: Experience with Git-based version control systems for accessing and testing new builds. Mobile Automation Testing: Knowledge of automation testing tools for Android, iOS, and cross-platform applications. CI/CD Integration: Experience in integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines. Qualifications and Certifications: 4 years of experience in manual and automation QA testing. 2+ years of hands-on experience in automation testing using Playwright. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and QA methodologies. Experience in functional and regression testing of web and mobile applications. Hands-on experience in testing multi-channel commerce or ERP systems. Experience in testing web, finance, or eCommerce applications. Familiarity with Agile methodology and working in Agile teams. Work experience with offshore/nearshore/onshore models. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of CI/CD processes and experience in integrating automated tests within deployment pipelines is a plus. Key Measurement: The success of the role will be measured by the delivery of projects on time and with high quality, as well as the efficiency of communication, defect management, and process improvements. Job Circumstances: Be willing to work extended hours as required by the role and be available to occasionally implement systems outside of business hours.
