Job Description: Supports Sales with design solutions within reasonable time limits to sell the product Issues product specification sheets for custom applications Calculates the total cost of new products Develop prototypes to be submitted to the customer Verifies that the prototypes meet the customer expectations Issue manufacturing specification documentation for production Qualifies new material sources Dimensions of this job description: Responsible to meet customer specifications, manufacturability, quality and cost goals Responsible to achieve profitability margins on products designed Support Sales with competitive design solutions within reasonable time limitations Responsible for the whole New Product Development process for assigned products Responsible to detect, prevent, and fix failure modes in products in stages of prototypes, production, and field operation during the lifetime of a product Duties and responsibilities: Make the manufacturing specification against Customer Print input or Design Input Defines the BOM Defines and qualifies Raw Material Qualifies finished prototypes by reviewing and approving the first article inspection reports Provides analysis against competitors’ products Analyze and solve production technical issues when they are related to the product design Defines and execute tests and evaluates test results Requirements: Electronic/Electrical Engineer Able to communicate effectively and accurately in English (written and verbal) as needed 6-8 years of experience in designing transformers/inductors Able to select the core material, calculate the core size, the corresponding winding(s), the core losses and the winding losses of the following products: 1. Common mode chokes 2. Base/Gate drive transformers 3. Open Magnetic Path inductors (slugs, drum cores, air coils, etc.) 4. Closed Magnetic Path inductors (Toroid’s, C cores, EE cores, EI cores, etc) 5. Flybacks 6. 50/60 Hz transformers · Knowledge on how to specify and test the above products · Knowledge of using software to design / validate the designs are preferred
