Job Title: Mail Server Administrator / Application Support (Fresher/Experience) Shift Timings: Flexible – Open to both Day and Night Shifts Key Responsibilities and Required Skill Set 1. Mail Server Configuration & Maintenance Install, configure, and maintain mail server software tailored to organizational needs. Monitor server health and perform routine maintenance, including software updates and patches. Manage user accounts, distribution groups, and email aliases. Enforce email usage policies including mailbox size limits and data retention protocols. 2. Security & Regulatory Compliance Implement robust security practices to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of email communications. Configure and maintain spam filters, antivirus tools, and email encryption mechanisms. Ensure systems comply with industry standards and legal regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). 3. Technical Support & Troubleshooting Provide support for users experiencing email-related issues. Diagnose and resolve issues such as delivery failures, bounce-backs, or spam flagging. Coordinate with other internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems. 4. Performance Monitoring & Optimization Continuously optimize mail server performance to ensure fast and reliable email delivery. Analyze server logs and performance metrics to proactively identify and address bottlenecks. Implement enhancements such as load balancing and caching for improved system efficiency. 5. Documentation & User Training Maintain up-to-date documentation covering server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting protocols. Create user guides and training materials focused on email best practices. Conduct training sessions to support users with client setup and efficient email usage. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience in managing mail servers such as Microsoft Exchange, Postfix, PMTA, or Sendmail. Strong grasp of email protocols (SMTP, IMAP, POP3) and DNS basics. Proficiency in implementing email security features including encryption and authentication. Familiarity with spam filtering technologies and antivirus systems. Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Relevant certifications in email server administration or Linux are advantageous.
