The role holder is responsible for achieving the organizational objective in quality excellence by implementing quality systems, process controls and improvement activities at the manufacturing plant. Ensuring adherence to the regulatory & compliance related requirements. Additionally the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring minimum customer complaints. Also responsible for liasoning with customers with a perspective of maintaining relations, understanding their expectations and resolution of their concerns. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Implement Quality systems, processes and relevant quality control Checks (RM, In Process and FG) Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints with validated RCA and CAPA Ensure reduction in rejection Timely completion of product regulatory and compliance related activities Ensure timely and effective process and product audit Reduction in customer complaints Meeting Product quality standards as per plan / target KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Planning Ensure achievement of Quality objectives defined and planned for the plant Plan and conduct regular system/ process audits in the plant through QMS and QC teams Identify critical control parameters with the help of Quality Head, Plant Production head and Plant SCM Head Prepare budgets for all Quality Operations for the location in consultation with the Quality Head Quality Management Design Support the Quality Head to develop the Quality objectives and guidelines for the plant Have a good understanding and ensure in implementation of all the process and procedures of the quality system Develop, maintain and review quality control charts & database Create documents and implement inspection criteria and procedures Work towards developing a mind-set towards quality through constant follow ups on various quality initiatives and adherence to quality systems Implementation Plan and conduct regular system/process audits in the plant and drive closure of non-conformances in consultation with the Quality Head and share reports with all key stake holders Ensure Quality systems result in reduction in rejections Ensure that Quality Lab is managed effectively and in an cost efficient manner Ensure that all lab and quality equipment are maintained and upgraded as per company policy and customer requirements Identify ways and means to enhance the performance of the quality function and product quality by identifying new equipment’s or test that need to brought into the company Ensure 100% compliance to all statutory requirements and liaise with regulatory authorities Ensure renewal of quality certificates like ISO9000, ISO14000, BRC, FSC etc. Development and Support Support the SCM Procurement team in by providing technical specifications for all quality related equipment purchases Ensure maintenance Quality Manuals with standard operating procedures and review them from time – to – time Train department heads and supervisors in quality systems, tools and techniques to ensure that quality becomes way of working Audits Ensure plant internal audits are conducted on a regular basis and ensure conformity in systems and processes Anchor all audits conducted by customers and certifying agencies for the assigned location Ensure all audits are conducted smoothly and all finding acted upon Plant Quality Operations Inspection Control Establish quality control measures at the identified critical control parameters Ensure all quality related issues are resolved on time Ascertain inspection and quality check of inbound and outbound FG and take corrective actions accordingly Work closely with section supervisors to plan, schedule and implement QA related activities Participate in plant level discussion to draw up action plans to arrest quality rejection Conduct specification checks on all new queries raised by the PDD team and give first print approval for all new products / SKU’s being brought into Production Responsible for checking all specifications during Master Folder creation for new SKU’s Problem Solving and Critical Analysis Conduct Why-Why Analysis and create /update control plans regularly Conduct Root cause analysis and take corrective actions to avoid repeat errors Give recommendations to the Production and the PDD on specific quality parameters and non-conformities to assist in development of new components, parts or products Resolve any disputes arising between manufacturing functions with regards to new products, colour shades, FG clearance etc Supplier Quality Management Participate in new vendor visits to identify the right source for good quality materials and equipment (Local Vendors only) Assess supplier product quality on regular basis and guide them to achieve consistency in quality Interact with supplier regularly and ensure implementation of corrective actions Customer Management Handle quality concerns at the customer end and ensure their resolution with the defined timeframe (Customers being serviced through the plant location) Accompany the sales team member incase of any quality issue at customer end on critical issues Identify stated and implied needs of customers in relation to the product quality Team Management Lead & develop the team to achieve quality objectives Train team members and operators on quality assurance methods to ensure in-process quality checks Conduct effective performance appraisals for the team and identify training needs Ensure implementation of the quality training calendar, jointly with HR Motivate, counsel and coach employees to ensure a conducive working environment
