Job Summary Business Strategist is a crucial role in data-driven decision-making, research, and strategic execution within the Business Transformation & Strategy team. This role is responsible for analyzing market trends, assessing regulatory impacts, and evaluating internal business performance to provide insights that shape transformation initiatives. The incumbent will support the execution of key strategic programs by identifying inefficiencies, mapping opportunities, and ensuring alignment with business goals, operational feasibility, and compliance standards. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, cross-functional collaboration, and execution-focused problem-solving Key Responsibilities Strategic Analysis & Market Research: Conduct competitive benchmarking, industry trend analysis, and regulatory impact assessments to support transformation initiatives. Analyse customer behaviour, sales performance, and product trends to identify areas for improvement. Track emerging technologies, digital disruptions, and global best practices to assess relevance for FGILI. Support the Program Manager – Research & Development in developing data-backed business cases. Business Performance & Opportunity Identification: Evaluate key operational and financial KPIs to identify gaps and inefficiencies. Work with internal teams to identify and validate new business models, product innovations, and digital transformation initiatives. Develop insights for cost optimization, revenue growth, and process efficiency improvements. Assist in preparing strategy reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership. External Environment, Regulatory & Risk Impact Assessment: Assess external environment changes & risks, along with IRDAI policy changes and compliance requirements that are affecting business operations. Track macroeconomic trends to assess external factors impacting business strategy. Work with business teams, compliance and risk teams to ensure business transformation initiatives adhere to evolving regulations, along with risk mitigation recommendations. Execution Support for Transformation Initiatives: Collaborate with and run cross-functional squads to drive execution of strategic initiatives. Ensure agile execution methodologies are followed in data analysis and program tracking. Support governance by monitoring project timelines, performance metrics, and business impact. Assist in preparing business impact models and feasibility assessments for new initiatives. Education Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree (MBA or equivalent)
