Purchasing Manager Job Responsibilities: Managing project and engineering items related procurement Review requests for proposals (RFxs) and manage procurement cycle in tandem with the technical department Review and negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliers Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on technical and commercial factors. Coordination with vendors and expediting items per engineering department’s needs Define Procurement strategy Developing new suppliers and evaluate existing vendors to meet company goals Train new employees and support team members as necessary Manage inventory Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets. Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers Collect and analyze data to ensure the company is making the best decisions Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks. Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation. Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications. Regular reporting to the project team and Management on procurement timeframes and spends. Working to improve inventory and purchasing systems and processes. Processing Payments and Invoice. Purchasing Manager Requirements: Minimum BTech in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering Additional certification/degree related to Purchasing, Material Management or Supply Chain Management desirable. Minimum experience of 15 years in Engineering Procurement Experience in Chemical Industry desirable Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP-MM module. Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management. Supervisory and management experience. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills. Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to work independently. Able to travel to meet with suppliers and work overtime as required
