Job Description

Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dy. Manager/ Manager – Electrical Maintenance to lead the electrical maintenance and automation functions in a steel recycling facility equipped with shredders, balers, and associated heavy-duty equipment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VFDs, PLCs, HT motors, power systems , and energy optimization , with a strong focus on troubleshooting, commissioning, and reliability improvement . Key Responsibilities : Electrical System Management: Lead installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical panels and systems. Troubleshoot and maintain VFDs, SMPS, ACs, UPS systems , and HT motors . Perform PLC programming , logic modifications, and circuit analysis. Conduct transformer and CTR health diagnostics and ensure optimal performance. Automation & Control: Analyse and troubleshoot position sensors, pumps, valves , and control circuits . Ensure smooth operation of de-dusting ID fans and associated motors. Perform hardware and software diagnostics on automation systems. Energy & Cost Optimization: Conduct power consumption analysis and implement energy-efficient solutions . Analyse and optimize capacitor banks for power factor correction. Drive initiatives for cost reduction and energy savings . Reliability & Performance Monitoring: Monitor and improve KPIs such as MTTR, MTBF , and perform RCFA . Prepare and present MIS reports for electrical performance and downtime analysis. Team Leadership & Compliance: Lead a team of electrical engineers and technicians. Ensure compliance with safety standards , electrical codes , and audit requirements . Spares Planning & Procurement: Develop and maintain a strategic spares inventory for critical electrical components. Coordinate with vendors for timely procurement of quality spares and consumables. Optimize stock levels to balance availability and cost-efficiency. Implement systems for tracking usage, warranty, and lifecycle of electrical spares. Qualifications & Experience : Education: B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering (Diploma holders with extensive experience may also be considered). Experience: Minimum 10–15 years in heavy industrial electrical maintenance, preferably in metals industry, steel recycling, or similar industries. Technical Skills: Proficient in VFDs (ABB, Siemens, Schneider, etc.) , PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.) . Strong knowledge of HT/LT systems , relay logic , and power distribution . Hands-on experience with energy audits , panel design , and electrical safety . Preferred Attributes : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent leadership and team management capabilities. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Good communication and documentation skills.
