Job Title: General Manager – IT Location: Bangalore Department: Information Technology Reports To: Chief Information Officer (CIO) / Director – IT Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager – IT to lead and manage the organization’s IT operations with a strong focus on IT Infrastructure (70%) and Applications (30%) . The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring robust IT systems, network stability, infrastructure security, and efficient management of enterprise applications. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in IT infrastructure, as well as working knowledge of application systems and ERP platforms. Key Responsibilities: Infrastructure Management (70%) Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure including servers, storage, networks, firewalls, backup systems, and disaster recovery plans. Ensure 24/7 uptime of data centers, communication systems, and end-user support services. Lead infrastructure projects such as data center modernization, cloud migration, network upgrades, etc. Manage IT security policies, compliance, risk management, and endpoint protection. Vendor management for IT hardware, AMC, licenses, and infrastructure services. Monitor infrastructure performance and generate regular reports to improve efficiency and uptime. Application Management (30%) Oversee the implementation, customization, and maintenance of enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRMS). Coordinate with functional departments to gather business requirements and translate them into technology solutions. Manage application lifecycle, upgrades, user access, license compliance, and data integrity. Liaise with software vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely support and delivery. Leadership & Strategic Initiatives Develop and implement IT strategy aligned with business goals. Manage IT budgeting, resource allocation, and cost control. Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of IT professionals. Ensure adherence to IT governance policies and cybersecurity frameworks. Key Skills and Competencies: Strong expertise in IT infrastructure planning, implementation, and support. Sound knowledge of server technologies (Windows/Linux), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), firewalls, routers, and networking. Understanding of enterprise application management (ERP, CRM, etc.). Hands-on experience in cybersecurity frameworks and data protection. Excellent leadership, project management, and team management skills. Strong vendor negotiation and contract management capabilities. Good understanding of ITIL, ISO 27001, or similar IT governance frameworks. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 15+ years of overall IT experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, CCNA, or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure) preferred.
