Rate: $1500 /Month+ $36 Medical Stipend Job Title: Bilingual Project Assistant Nautical Staffing is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bilingual Project Assistant to join our team remotely. This role is dedicated exclusively to managing annual Section 8 rent increases and lease renewals across a portfolio of subsidized units. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HUD regulations, Section 8 subsidy programs, and experience coordinating with local housing authorities such as HACLA and LACDA, while also contributing to accounting functions, project coordination, and program oversight. Responsibilities: - Coordinate and process annual rent increase requests with local Housing Authorities (e.g., HACLA, LACDA) for Section 8 tenants. - Prepare, compile, and submit all required paperwork and documentation related to rent adjustments and lease renewals. - Track rent increase and renewal deadlines to ensure timely submissions and full compliance with HUD and PHA requirements. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for subsidy programs and Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contracts. - Communicate directly with Section 8 offices, caseworkers, tenants, and internal teams to resolve issues, follow up on submissions, and ensure compliance. - Collaborate with accounting teams to reconcile rent increases, subsidy payments, and ensure correct billing in property management systems. - Contribute to special projects and process improvements related to subsidy program administration and renewal tracking. - Provide oversight and quality control over subsidy-related processes, ensuring documentation accuracy and policy alignment. - Utilize Yardi Voyager, Excel, and other tools for data entry, tracking, and reporting. - Support Spanish-speaking tenants, staff, or stakeholders as needed. Qualifications: - 2+ years of experience in affordable housing, Section 8 renewals, or rent adjustment processing. - Familiarity with HACLA, LACDA, and other housing authorities' procedures and systems. - Strong knowledge of HUD guidelines and Section 8 subsidy regulations. - Experience in accounting or rent reconciliation related to property management. - Proficient in Yardi Voyager, Microsoft Excel, and online housing portals. - Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of documentation. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with housing agencies and tenants effectively. - Property management experience is highly preferred. - Being bilingual in Spanish and English is a strong plus.
