Due to continued growth, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our team and make a meaningful impact. The Opportunity Reporting to the Partner and client manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing compliance and advisory services for a varied portfolio of clients, including individuals, businesses, trusts, and SMSFs. This role offers the opportunity to work autonomously, mentor junior staff, and contribute to our firm’s growth through business development. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review financial statements, income tax returns, activity statements and management reports with precision and efficiency. Assistance with providing tax advice to clients, ensuring compliance with Australian tax laws. Advise on and establish optimal client structures, including companies, trusts, and self-managed super funds (SMSFs). Supervise, mentor, and train junior team members to foster their professional development. Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), government departments, and external service providers. Managing workflows and tasks to ensure deadlines are met. Contribute to business development initiatives to grow our client base. Skills and Experience Minimum 8 years of experience in an Australian business services or taxation role within a public practice environment. Degree-qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent (CPA considered). Strong working knowledge of Xero Accounting Software and Class Super; familiarity with Xero Practice Manager is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Exceptional communication skills with fluent English (written and verbal). Proven experience supervising and mentoring junior team members. Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
