Job Description

Purpose of the Job : Drive and manage R&D initiatives in the Hardware team. Be the connection between the management and the team to realize the products from ideation to production. Ensure that the Design and Quality standards are defined and executed. Be the key source to close all the dependencies from the CFTs. Responsibilities : Research and Development: Owner of Schematic and PCB designs for all the R&D initiatives assigned to the Hardware team. Be the reviewer of all the design and validation activities driven by the hardware team. Ensure that the external dependencies raised by CFTs, or external teams are addressed promptly. Drive simulations and pre and post design activities for all Hardware activities to maintain efficient designs. Product Owner: Be the product owner for R&D initiatives. Owner of activities such as business cases, business proposal, product requirement and technical requirement activities, and present the same to the management. Owner of project planning, resource planning, costing, and daily project updates. Interact with marketing team for customer feedback, field visits and expos to understand the market requirement and drive projects and clearly define customer requirement. Interact with overseas team, customers to drive product implementation, validation and general feedback activities. Point of contact for field issues reported, conclude and communicate the action points and root cause with stakeholders. Team Manager: Distribute the tasks to individual members and enable leads to realize the goals. Set yearly goals to the members and monitor the same. Enable to members to realize the goals and fill in gaps wherever needed. Motivate the team and align individual’s effort for constant improvement. Lead the annual performance meeting for the team members. Communication: Prepare business proposals, timelines and budget proposals for projects for C-Suit meetings. Communicate risks, issues, delays or bottlenecks/ closures with CFT and C-Suit members when necessary. Discuss with manager and HR for any reportees’s issue, review or other queries. Lead weekly meetings with reportees to ensure timely updates on ongoing activities. Prepare a project tracker detailing the status of current and upcoming activities, this is also tp ensure reportee’s are aware of current and upcoming priorities. Required Skills: Proficiency in PCB design using Altium Design Software. Experience in Multi-Layer PCB design. Experience in PCB design with Signal Integrity, Power Integrity and EMI/EMC considerations. Experience in working with Serial protocols such as RS422/485, I2C, SPI, UART etc. Experience in working with Wi-Fi, LoRa and Bluetooth related hardware and antenna selection. Experience in working with Microcontrollers and Compute modules. Experience in preparing FEMCA & DFMEA analysis for Hardware designs. Experience in handling a team of technicians and junior engineers. Experience in managing team related to annual appraisals, performance review and goal settings. Experience in preparing project dashboards, steercos and review meetings for C-Suit level, management and CFT members. Proficiency in English. Qualification: BE in Electronics and communication / telecommunications.
