This role ensures the secure and resilient operation of OT systems across 340+ factory floor networks, acting as a central liaison between Corporate Security, Operations Leadership, and Divisional IT teams. The position plays a critical role in safeguarding production systems, driving security awareness, and proactively identifying and mitigating cyber threats in collaboration with Magna’s Security Operations Center (SOC). This senior-level position requires a high degree of autonomy, strategic thinking, and leadership in guiding OT cybersecurity initiatives across global operations. The Senior Engineer is expected to influence decision-making, lead cross-functional initiatives, and serve as a subject matter expert in OT security. Major Responsibilities: • Lead comprehensive cybersecurity risk assessments across OT environments. • Identify vulnerabilities and translate findings into actionable mitigation plans. • Oversee execution of OT security projects and ensure alignment with corporate standards. • Design and evolve secure OT architectures using principles from ICS, SCADA, IoT, and IIoT. • Understanding and experience with RTO, RPO, Operation Technology Asset Inventory, and LAN Segmentation (Segregating Office Network from the factory floor network). • Conduct effective security architecture reviews, ensuring that designs achieve the desired security requirements, scalability, and resilience. • Maintain detailed documentation of OT security architecture and defense strategies. • Monitor threat intelligence sources and assess potential attack vectors. • Act as the primary OT liaison during incident response, coordinating with SOC, vendors, and IT. • Support OT-specific incident handling and post-incident reviews. • Develop and maintain OT security roadmaps and strategic plans. • Align OT security initiatives with corporate cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements. • Provide cost-benefit analyses and justifications for security investments. • Partner with global operations, IT, and security teams to ensure consistent implementation of OT security controls. • Educate, coach, and mentor divisional teams on OT cybersecurity best practices. • Foster a culture of security awareness across all levels of the organization. Knowledge and Education College diploma or university degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation and Control Engineering Technology or Robotics and Automation Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with knowledge of GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional), IEC 62443, or NIST cybersecurity frameworks. Work Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in OT cybersecurity, including demonstrated leadership in cross-functional or global initiatives.
