Job Description

As a Junior Supply Chain Consultant , you will be a key member of the internal consulting team, contributing to the design and delivery of automation-led supply chain solutions. Your core responsibility will be to support warehouse automation initiatives through customer engagement, data analysis, vendor interaction, and RFQ/tender processes. You will primarily contribute to warehouse automation opportunities/ layout design and, on a project basis, assist with network modelling and fleet optimization studies. This role bridges business development, solution engineering, and project planning—helping customers unlock value through smart automation, efficient warehousing, and optimized logistics networks. Key responsibilities: Warehouse Automation (Primary Focus ~ 70% of role): Vendor Development: Identify, evaluate, and onboard automation vendors (e.g., AMRs, ASRS, Pick-to-Light, Conveyor Systems). Maintain a strong vendor ecosystem. Solution Evaluation: Understand and assess key decision drivers behind automation – throughput requirements, ROI, system integration, scalability, and operational fit. Market Intelligence: Conduct ongoing market research and competitor benchmarking. Curate a central knowledge base of solutions, case studies, and innovations. Stakeholder Management: Act as the SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for all internal stakeholders and external automation vendors during project lifecycles. RFQ Management: Prepare and float RFQs/RFPs for automation solutions, support technical-commercial evaluation, and conduct post-RFQ analysis. Solution Development: Assist in designing warehouse automation solutions that improve productivity and reduce total cost of ownership. Warehouse Design Support (~30% of role): Collaborate with internal solution design teams on end-to-end warehouse design projects including layout planning, process optimization, and flow simulation. Support the development of scalable designs with automation as a key enabler. Assist in data analysis to help develop network models and fleet routing simulations using advanced analytics tools (LLamasoft). Qualifications: A strong interest in Distribution Centre (DC) Automation, data analysis, material handling systems, picking technologies like Goods-to-person, AMR assisted picking, sortation conveyors etc., and the development of automation-driven business cases. Demonstrates a structured and detail-oriented work style, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across the Asia-Pacific region, including Supply Chain Solution Architects, Analysts, and Consulting Associates. Holds a degree in a discipline that blends analytical and/or commercial acumen, such as Engineering, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or Supply Chain Management. Ideally brings 3+ years of experience in the supply chain or logistics industry; exposure to consulting or solution design is a plus. Familiarity with network modelling tools (e.g., LLamasoft) and warehouse design software (e.g., CLASS, AutoCAD, SketchUp) is advantageous but not mandatory.
