About the role: The Business Analyst will play a key role in supporting strategic and commercial decision-making by delivering deep market insights, competitor analysis, financial analysis, and performance tracking. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of the chemical industry value chain and an analytical mindset to support new business growth and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Market & Industry Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research on specialty chemical products, technologies, applications, customer segments, pricing trends, and global supply-demand dynamics. Business Intelligence: Monitor competitors, industry trends, M&A activity, new capacity announcements, and regulatory changes to identify risks and opportunities. Develop and Maintain Trade Movement Reports: Prepare, update, and manage comprehensive trade movement reports for both new and existing key products. Strategic Support: Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Plant Operations teams to support strategic initiatives such as new product development, capacity expansions, or process improvements. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and present actionable reports including executive summaries, technical briefs, detailed market overviews, white papers, financial analysis, and investment recommendations. Build and Manage Internal Knowledge Repositories: Create and maintain an organized in-house repository encompassing industry landscapes, product profiles, global plant capacities, manufacturing technologies, and key industry trends. Ensure that the repository is up-to-date, accessible, and valuable for cross-functional teams. Key Qualifications, Skills & Competencies: A Degree in Chemical Engineering. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with spreadsheets. Strong knowledge of chemical industry value chains and technical terminologies. Ability to synthesize complex data into meaningful insights. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. Desirable Exposure: Experience in working with chemical, petrochemical, or specialty chemical industries. Understanding of manufacturing processes, product lifecycle, or techno-commercial feasibility. Prior involvement in market assessment or business development support.
