Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and passionate Indian Classical Music Teacher who can inspire and nurture a love for traditional Indian music in students. The role demands a strong background in either Hindustani or Carnatic classical vocal/instrumental music and an ability to conduct classes, individual lessons, and performances while contributing meaningfully to the school’s cultural ethos. Key Responsibilities Plan, develop and deliver engaging lessons in Indian Classical Music (vocal and/or instrumental) for students across various age groups. Conduct both group classes and individual mentoring sessions , catering to diverse levels of musical proficiency. Prepare students for school functions, competitions, and public performances , including inter-school and national-level contests. Curate and lead music-based assemblies, cultural evenings, and events held within the school. Maintain instruments and resources related to music instruction, ensuring regular upkeep and usage. Provide periodic assessments and feedback to students and maintain performance records. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience , preferably in reputed schools or institutions. Proficiency in either Hindustani or Carnatic classical music , with the ability to perform and teach. Strong communication skills and fluency in English. Ability to work in a residential school environment and adapt to the routine and rhythm of school life. Preferred Attributes Passion for working with children and adolescents in a multicultural setting. A performer’s background or experience in public recitals or concerts will be considered an advantage. Exposure to modern teaching methodologies, digital tools, and blended learning approaches.
