The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail purchasing, vendor management, and cost optimization to support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency. Responsibilities : Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans to meet business requirements while ensuring cost efficiency. Handle the procurement of goods and services including IT systems, office infrastructure, marketing, logistics, freight, insurance etc. Manage supplier relationships and evaluate performance based on quality, cost, and delivery. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and procurement best practices. Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers and service providers. Assess risk and maintain transparency in vendor selection and onboarding. Optimize cost savings without compromising quality or compliance. Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and reports for audits and regulatory purposes. Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and competitor strategies to make data-driven purchasing decisions. Optimize procurement costs through negotiation, bulk purchasing, and supplier performance analysis. Collaborate with finance, marketing, and operations teams to align purchasing strategies with business goals. Use ERP and procurement software to track purchase orders, manage contracts, and generate reports for management. Qualifications : Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management in the retail sector. Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills. Proficiency in SAP systems and procurement software. Analytical mindset with expertise in demand forecasting and cost control. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple procurement projects. Knowledge of import/export regulations, GST, and compliance requirements in India is an advantage.
