Job Description

Job Title: Food Technologist – Frozen Food DivisionLocation: Ambala Industry: Food Processing (Frozen Foods – French Fries, Burger Patty, etc.) Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Food Technologist to join our team at our frozen food processing plant in Ambala. The candidate will be responsible for product development, quality control, compliance, and process optimization for products such as frozen french fries, burger patties, and other formed/processed items. Key Responsibilities: Product Development: Develop and improve frozen food products (French fries, burger patties, etc.). Standardize recipes and conduct shelf-life and sensory tests. Work on texture, taste, and appearance improvement. Process Optimization: Monitor and optimize production processes for consistency and efficiency. Ensure freezing, blanching, forming, and frying parameters are followed correctly. Quality Control & Assurance: Maintain food safety and hygiene standards across production. Conduct regular inspections and audits on raw materials and final products. Ensure batch consistency and compliance with specifications. Documentation & Compliance: Prepare technical documents like SOPs, HACCP plans, and quality reports. Ensure compliance with FSSAI, ISO, and other regulatory bodies. R&D Collaboration: Work with NPD (New Product Development) and production teams to trial new ideas. Evaluate cost-effectiveness and feasibility of formulations. Supplier & Material Evaluation: Assist in raw material selection, especially for potato-based and meat-alternative products. Liaise with vendors and procurement team to ensure quality standards. Requirements: Education: B.Tech / M.Sc in Food Technology, Food Science, or related field. Experience: 2–5 years in a food processing unit (preferably frozen food products like fries and patties). Freshers with strong academic background and interest in frozen foods may be considered for junior roles. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of freezing techniques, IQF, forming machines, fryers, and chillers. Understanding of FSSAI norms, HACCP, GMP, and food microbiology. Soft Skills: Detail-oriented with analytical thinking. Good communication and documentation skills. Ability to work in a team and under pressure. Preferred Candidate Profile: Experience in frozen snack foods or quick-serve product lines. Candidates from Haryana, Punjab, or Himachal preferred for local availability.
