We are seeking a Mechanical Designer with specific experience in van or vehicle interior design to join our team part-time. If you’re passionate about automotive customization, ergonomic layout, and converting van concepts into manufacturable designs—this role is for you. Responsibilities: Design and draft custom van interiors (e.g., mobile offices, food trucks, camper vans, medical vans). Create 2D/3D layouts and component designs using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar). Develop modular furniture, mounting structures, and integrated equipment layouts. Optimize design for space utilization, structural integrity, and manufacturability. Collaborate with fabrication teams and suppliers for real-world feasibility. Document BOMs, specifications, and assembly instructions. Requirements: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Design. Proven experience in van or vehicle body/interior design (minimum 1 project preferred). Strong skills in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar 3D CAD tools. Knowledge of vehicle layout constraints (dimensions, weight distribution, safety). Familiarity with material selection for lightweight structures , cabinetry, electrical routing, etc. Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with vendors and team members. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with camper van, ambulance, or mobile unit design . Understanding of RTO vehicle regulations and compliance. Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication , plywood/PU interiors , and mounting hardware . Experience in sourcing components locally (Pune/Maharashtra). Work Hours: Flexible hours (10–20 hours/week) Ideal for freelancers, consultants, or professionals with other projects
