Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership and Library Ecosystem Building Lead the development and execution of a plan to build a world-class university library, balancing physical and digital assets. Oversee the design and rollout of library infrastructure and services aligned with international best practices and Nayanta’s academic vision. Establish protocols for acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, digital resource management, and open access. Curation, Engagement, and Programming Curate interdisciplinary and inclusive collections, including significant Indian and regional language materials. Develop and display special collections that celebrate major Indian and global leaders and thinkers. Activate the library through events, reading programs, exhibitions, and research showcases to engage students and faculty. Technology and Innovation Integrate digital tools and major research databases (e.g., JSTOR, Scopus, Project MUSE) to support advanced research and learning. Apply the latest developments in library science, including AI tools, open access resources, and digital preservation. Build and maintain a robust digital library portal that is intuitive and accessible. Institutional Collaboration Collaborate with academic leaders to integrate library assets into teaching and curriculum development. Partner with Student Affairs to support reading, wellness, and personal growth. Participate actively in university committees supporting academic integrity and pedagogical enhancement. Team Leadership and Network Building Recruit, train, and lead a diverse library team. Establish partnerships with national and international libraries to enable inter-library loans, joint events, and shared knowledge. Develop training modules for faculty and students on library use and digital literacy. Candidate Profile We welcome candidates at all career stages who can demonstrate energy, curiosity, and strategic leadership. Qualifications and Experience Required: Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent. Passion for books, learning, and knowledge systems. Proficiency with cataloguing standards (e.g., MARC21), open-source management systems (e.g., Koha), and digital research platforms. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engagement with a diverse community. Strategic thinking and adaptability to an evolving workplace. Preferred: Experience establishing a library or knowledge repository at an academic, research, or cultural institution. Interest or background in interdisciplinary education. Familiarity or experience with Indian language literature or multilingual curation. Experience managing archival or thematic collections.
