As our client basecontinues to grow, we are looking to expand our remote team with a skilled and proactive JuniorAccountant / Bookkeeper based in India.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be involved in day-to-day client accounting operations, supporting senior accountants andensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records. Your duties include but are not limited to:- Preparing VAT returns and ensuring timely submissions to HMRC- Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records, including sales, purchases, and expenses- Performing bank reconciliations to ensure records match bank statements- Preparing financial accounts up to trial balance stage- Requesting and collecting records from clients as needed for VAT and bookkeeping- Liaising with clients to resolve queries and clarify transactions or missing information- Supporting payroll preparation and processing, where required- Ensuring all data is accurately entered and reconciled in Xero accounting software- Working closely with senior accountants and providing general support across the teamRequired Skills and Experience- Minimum 2 years' experience in UK-based bookkeeping and accounting- Proficiency in Xero (daily use expected)- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, VAT rules, and reconciliations- Experience preparing accounts to trial balance level- Some experience in payroll preparation for UK clients- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English) for client interaction- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage time and tasks independentlyPreferred Qualifications- AAT Level 3 or 4, or part-qualified ACCA / equivalent (desirable but not mandatory)- Experience in remote collaboration and working with UK-based practicesTraining and GrowthWe are committed to your professional development.
