Job descriptionJob Title: Computer Science Teacher (IGCSE and IBDP)Location: Sancta Maria International School, FaridabadPosition Type: Full-timeJob Purpose:To deliver high-quality, engaging Computer Science lessons for students in both the IGCSE and IBDP programmes, encouraging computational thinking, innovation, and digital fluency in alignment with the school’s educational philosophy and the expectations of the Cambridge and IB curricula.Key Responsibilities:Teaching & LearningPlan and deliver differentiated and inquiry-based Computer Science lessons in accordance with the IGCSE and IBDP syllabi.Prepare students for success in external examinations by ensuring comprehensive syllabus coverage, practice with past papers, and formative assessments.Promote critical thinking, algorithmic reasoning, and problem-solving through real-world and project-based learning approaches.Use varied teaching methodologies, including flipped classrooms, coding labs, and simulations, to support diverse learning styles.Assessment & ReportingDesign and administer a range of assessments aligned with IGCSE and IB criteria, including internal assessments and reflective evaluations.Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student learning and growth.Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to reporting processes for parents and internal reviews.Curriculum DevelopmentCollaborate with colleagues to review, refine, and develop the Computer Science curriculum.Integrate TOK (Theory of Knowledge), CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service), and ATL (Approaches to Learning) into lesson planning and delivery.Stay up-to-date with syllabus updates, digital innovations, and assessment frameworks from both CIE and the IB.Pastoral & Administrative DutiesContribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral care, student mentoring, house events, and ICT-related clubs or initiatives.Maintain open communication with parents regarding student performance, participation, and well-being.Complete administrative responsibilities such as documentation, report writing, and examination invigilation.Professional DevelopmentEngage in continuous professional learning, both independently and through school-led initiatives.Attend workshops, webinars, and training sessions to stay current with emerging technologies and pedagogical strategies.QualificationsMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.B.Ed or equivalent teaching qualification.IB and/or Cambridge training certifications (desirable but not mandatory at entry).ExperienceMinimum 2–3 years of experience teaching Computer Science at IGCSE and/or IBDP level.Demonstrated success in preparing students for external assessments and internal evaluations.Skills & AttributesStrong programming knowledge (Python, Java, or equivalent).Passion for teaching and the ability to engage students in computational thinking and digital problem-solving.Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.Commitment to international education and inquiry-based learning.Comfort with technology integration and digital platforms.Desirable:Experience guiding IBDP Internal Assessments or Extended Essays in Computer Science.Familiarity with interdisciplinary project planning and the integration of global and ethical issues in technology.Willingness to lead coding clubs, robotics teams, or tech-driven co-curricular activities.How to ApplyTo apply for the position of Computer Science Teacher at Sancta Maria International School, please submit a cover letter, resume/CV, and contact information for three professional references to bemore@.
