In this role, you will work on cutting-edge machine learning and computer vision problems, focusing on transforming complex visual data into structured, actionable information.This work plays a foundational role in advancing the intelligence and automation capabilities of our cost engineering platform, xcPEP, enabling faster, more accurate analysis and decision-making for complex technical workflows.Key Responsibilities Develop and enhance ML pipelines for object detection, image-based classification, OCR, and information extraction Convert high-resolution technical images into structured datasets using deep learning and vision models Build tools and processes for annotation, labeling, data cleaning, and augmentation Collaborate with domain experts and backend developers to design scalable model outputs Optimize and deploy models in production environments, ensuring reliability and efficiency Research and experiment with relevant architectures (e.g., YOLO, LayoutLM, Detectron2, transformers) Contribute to long-term AI/ML strategy supporting broader automation and intelligence goalsWhat We’re Looking ForRequired Skills: 2+ years of experience in machine learning, data engineering, or computer vision Strong proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV Demonstrated experience with image processing, OCR, object detection, or visual classification Ability to work with large image datasets and create clean, usable training pipelines Experience building, evaluating, and deploying ML models in real-world scenarios Familiarity with software engineering principles and version control (e.g., Git)Preferred Skills (Good to Have): Exposure to real-world applications in manufacturing, industrial data, or engineering systems Familiarity with structured data formats (e.g., JSON, XML) and model output integration Understanding of data modeling using PostgreSQL or other relational databases Experience with APIs, cloud environments (AWS preferred), and scalable ML deployments Knowledge of tools for model versioning and experiment tracking (e.g., MLflow, Weights & Biases)Why Join ASI?
